Microblading Vs HD Brows
Which Treatment Should You Choose?

The shape and definition of your eyebrows really can change your look. Eyebrows frame not just your eyes, but your entire face, which may be why so many of us obsess over achieving perfectly shaped brows. But let’s face it, shaping your brows correctly is not an easy task.

There are many options available when it comes to styling eyebrows such as waxing, threading and tinting. Perhaps you have tried to pluck your eyebrows to perfection before drawing the conclusion that it is best left to the experts. Nowadays there are a lot of options available when it comes to your brows, it is hard to know which treatment would be best.

If you are someone who is struggling with sparse eyebrows, you have probably heard of two popular cosmetic treatments known as microblading and HD Brows and you are probably wondering which treatment you should choose.

Microblading

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique for eyebrow enhancement. Microblading is most suitable for those looking to define or restructure their brows, it is also a popular treatment for covering or filling overplucked eyebrows. It is also a popular procedure for those suffering from natural hair loss.

The microblading technician must take into consideration the client’s natural shape of the brows, the brow hair growth and colour, along with the shape of the face and the tone of tone skin to design a natural-looking brow. Meaning each microblading treatment is a completely bespoke service.

During the procedure, the pigment is implanted just beneath the epidermal layer of the skin, creating realistic hair-like strokes that mimic the appearance of natural-looking eyebrows. Each stroke is applied manually with a handheld microblading tool.

Microblading only reaches the top layer of the skin, unlike traditional machine tattooing, so it is less of a permanent fixture. Microblading typically lasts for anywhere between 6 months to 1 year before needing a top-up.

HD Brows

As one of the most popular eyebrow treatments available in the UK, High Definition Brows, more commonly known as HD Brows, is a cosmetic treatment that can only be performed by specially trained stylists. There are a number of steps taken to create the perfect HD Brows, making it much more than a standard eyebrow thread and tint.

  • Consultation and Analysis
  • Brow Tint
  • Waxing
  • Threading
  • Tweezing
  • Trimming
  • Finish & Aftercare

In order to get the best results possible, you should leave your eyebrows alone for a few weeks before seeing an HD brow technician. If you want to achieve fuller and thicker-looking eyebrows, you’ll work towards growing the hairs in overplucked areas and also be shown how to fill them in properly. The less regrowth that is needed, the fewer appointments will likely be needed. Your brow stylist may even recommend a daily serum to help promote hair growth. The colour of your brows will be carefully matched to your existing hair colour in order to appear natural.

HD Brows are not permanent, the cosmetics used are temporary, however, any hairs that you regrow during the treatment are permanent, which is the reason for the procedure. The brows will usually need tinting and shaping approximately every 4-6 weeks.

If you prefer a more natural look to your brows then HD Brows is the preferred treatment due to the brow regrowth and the way that the treatment works with your own eyebrow hairs.
