Dermal and Lip Filler, Southend On Sea, Essex
Dermal fillers consist of a naturally occurring substance known as hyaluronic acid which can be injected into the face and hands. This draws moisture to it which increases volume to the area.
At Snap Beauty Salon, we currently offer a comprehensive range of Dermal Fillers in Southend and Dermal Fillers in Essex. Areas currently offered are lips, cheeks, nano-labial folds, marionette lines, tear trough, jaw and chin.
Prior to your aesthetic treatment, you will have a full consultation with your aesthetic practitioner. They will go through your expectations from the treatment, as well as your suitability and medical history.
The average treatment time for a dermal filler treatment is around 45 minutes to one hour. A topical anaesthetic will be applied prior to having your dermal filler treatment. Most describe mild discomfort whilst having this treatment. There is minimal downtime, however, it’s best to give yourself 48 hours to recover.
We will thoroughly assess your existing concern and talk you through the entire process to assure you’re best informed.
You will be provided with full aftercare instructions, that will also be emailed to you.
Additional Info
Who will carry out my treatment?
Our medically trained Aesthetic practitioners Isra, Niusha and Yvette are available to carry out our dermal filler treatment. Each of their portfolios is available on request.
Our aesthetic practitioners use the market-leading facial fillers available such as Juvederm, Intraline, Radiesse and Teosyal. We offer such a wide range of products to be able to cater to every client need when having fillers.
Do dermal fillers hurt?
Injections always bring some degree of pain. The Botox anti-wrinkle injections are almost painless and require no surface numbing however fillers tend to be more uncomfortable so we always apply topical numbing cream before injecting. Some of the fillers we use also have a local anaesthetic in them.
What are the side effects?
After having dermal fillers the injected area may be tender to touch, swollen and red. Occasionally some bruising may occur, this is usually short term and will subside within a few days. Lip treatments may take a little longer to settle, we recommend waiting one week to see the final results. If any reaction occurs, please contact your practitioner immediately.
who don't you advise having dermal fillers?
For both antiwrinkle and filler injections, we advise against them during breastfeeding and pregnancy or if you have any allergies to Botulinum Toxin®️, hyaluronic acid or lidocaine
We don’t treat anybody under the age of 18. For a full list of contraindications, please email us.

Are dermal fillers and botox the same?
No, dermal fillers and Botox are not the same, although both are popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments used to reduce signs of aging.
Key Differences Between Dermal Fillers and Botox
1. Purpose:
- Dermal Fillers: Add volume and fullness to areas of the face, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are effective for treating static wrinkles (caused by aging and loss of volume).
- Botox: Temporarily relaxes facial muscles to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (caused by repetitive facial movements, like frowning or smiling).
2. Active Ingredient:
- Dermal Fillers: Typically contain hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, or poly-L-lactic acid, substances that restore lost volume.
- Botox: Contains botulinum toxin type A, which blocks nerve signals to muscles, preventing muscle contraction.
3. Treatment Areas:
- Dermal Fillers: Used to plump lips, cheeks, jawline, and under-eye areas, and to smooth nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
- Botox: Commonly used on the forehead, between the eyebrows (frown lines), and around the eyes (crow’s feet).
4. Results:
- Dermal Fillers: Provide immediate results, lasting from 6 to 18 months, depending on the filler type and area treated.
- Botox: Results appear within 3 to 7 days and typically last 3 to 6 months.
5. Treatment Mechanism:
- Dermal Fillers: Physically fill in wrinkles and hollow areas to create a smoother, fuller appearance.
- Botox: Temporarily paralyzes targeted muscles to prevent wrinkles from forming or deepening.
6. Reversibility:
- Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic acid-based fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed.
- Botox: Effects naturally wear off over time and cannot be reversed immediately.
Both treatments can be used individually or combined for a comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Consulting with a qualified professional can help determine which option is best for your aesthetic goals.

Quick answers to questions you may have
Where can be treated with dermal fillers?
Common treatment areas include lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, jawline, chin, and under-eye hollows.
How long do fillers last?
Fillers last up to 6-18 months depending on where they are injected. It all depends on how quickly your body breaks it all back down again. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring compound in the body that attracts water to it giving you the plump look but in time, your body breaks it down. The rate is different from person to person.
Where did your aesthetic practitioners train?
Both of our aesthetic practitioners are from a medical background. They are highly trained from various clinics in Harley Street, London. We want to provide the best possible standard of practice for our clients.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is minimal. Most clients return to normal activities immediately, although minor swelling or bruising may occur for a few days.
