How can I prepare for my Microblading and Semi-Permanent Makeup appointment?

The Treatments

Here at Snap Beauty, Southend we offer two semi-permanent treatments; Microblading & Semi-Permanent Makeup. Microblading is a tattooing technique where micro-needles are used to add pigment to the skin. Microblading is the perfect treatment for those who have sparse or thinning eyebrows as it can create lifelike hair strokes onto the brows, giving the appearance of naturally fuller looking brows. We also offer semi-permanent makeup, at Snap Beauty, Southend. Similar to microblading, our semi-permanent makeup can be performed on brows, to enhance & create a fuller looking eyebrow, however, it is also used elsewhere. Our semi-permanent makeup treatments can be used on the brows, lips and eyes (for semi-permanent eyeliner). With semi-permanent treatments, small amounts of pigment are implanted into the dermis, meaning results can last up to 5 years, whereas with our Microblading treatments, they can last up to 1 year.

Preparing For Your Treatment

Preparing for any treatment can take some thinking, and that’s why we give all our clients clear guidelines of what not to do before your treatment, and how to be best prepared! Before many of our treatments, including both Microblading and Semi-Permanent makeup treatments, you will need a patch test and a consultation. At your consultation with us we will run through everything surrounding how to prepare for your treatment, the treatment itself and the aftercare needed. The patch test and consultation must be performed at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

What To Do Before Your Treatment

Before your treatment goes ahead, please avoid coffee, alcohol and aspirin for at least 24 hours before. Coffee, alcohol and aspirin are blood-thinning and can increase the risk of bleeding excessively. Before your appointment, you should ensure you have researched the treatment and know it is the right one for you, at your consultation you are free to ask any questions, and we will help as best we can! If you are coming for a brow treatment (Microblading/Semi-Permanent Brows) then we would recommend to wash your hair prior to your appointment, as you will need to keep the area as dry as possible post-treatment.

What To Expect At Your Consultation

Before you come to Snap Beauty, Southend, for your treatment, you will have to come for a patch test where we will test the products used on your skin to ensure no reaction occurs, as well as a consultation with us. There is nothing to worry about when attending your consultation, feel free to ask as many questions as you like – all questions are valid, we do not judge! If there is anything in particular you wish to know prior to your treatment, we would always rather you ask. We want each and every one of our clients to feel comfortable and at ease at their appointments, and we are all very happy to help! At the consultation, we will discuss the treatment itself and what to expect on the day of your appointment, as well as what to avoid before your treatment, and the aftercare! You will also be reminded of the aftercare after your treatments!

What To Expect On The Day Of Your Treatment

On the day of your treatment at Snap Beauty Salon, you will be welcomed in by our staff members. You will be very well looked after. Your microblading appointment will take place in two sessions with each session being around 1.5 hours. Remember a lot of the treatment time is spent waiting for the area to be numb and measuring out your brows. The actual blading time is under one hour. You may experience some mild discomfort during your microblading appointment. We do use pre-numb on the area before proceeding with the treatment to try to ensure maximum client comfort.

After your treatment, a member of staff will go through the aftercare with you to ensure the healing process is made simpler, and any questions you may have, do not hesitate to ask at your appointment, or give us a ring if you think of something after your treatment!
